ChatGPT Instructions to Map your Cemetery for EverArkDesigning a clean, accurate cemetery plot map is way easier than you think when you use GPS anchors with a little math and code. These instructions, along with our example, will walk you through a practical, simple workflow you can run entirely with ChatGPT: from using your plot GPS anchor points for your cemetery to calculating the coordinates for all plots to exporting the results to a CSV file that you can import and open in EverArk. Let's get started by following our 5 easy steps!

Step 1: Gather some GPS anchor points.
The first thing you need to do is gather some GPS coordinates for the center of several key plots. Your plot selection depends on the size and shape of your cemetery or area you want to map. These plots will act as your anchor points which means all plot calculations performed by ChatGPT will reference these. It is, therefore, important that these coordinates are very accurate. In this example, we will map a rectangular section of the cemetery. The two anchor plots will be the two (2) corner plots of the cemetery garden where the northwest plot is 38.962529694, -121.290759696, and the southwest east plot is 38.962161865, -121.289785747. Note, the degree of accuracy of the anchor plots so the plotting and calculations of the GPS coordinates for all plots are accurate. We captured the GPS coordinates of the anchor plots using Google Earth. By clicking on the 'Add Placemarks' icon from the menu, you can simply click on the map to add your anchors. Once added, you can expand the 'More settings' option of the Placemark to capture the GPS coordinates of your anchor(s). Step 2: Ask ChatGPT to calculate your cemetery plots.
In ChatGPT, we asked it to do the following: "Can you calculate the centroid GPS coordinates for all the 3.33' x 10' plots in the cemetery, where the northwest plot is 38.962529694, -121.290759696, and the southwest east plot is 38.962161865, -121.289785747. " Since the cemetery area we're trying to map is rectangular, we only needed two (2) anchor points and the size of each plot. Here's our actual ChatGPT conversation and ChatGPT's response. We let it do most of the work. Step 3. Download and open the CSV file.
From ChatGPT, click on the 'Download the CSV' link that it provides. If it doesn't provide it automatically, simply ask for it. The CSV file we downloaded was clean and simple. We didn't provide any instructions on how to label the rows and plots, so ChatGPT did it for us. Step 4. Insert the GPS coordinates into the Plot Import Template.
Next, download the EverArk 'Import Template' from the Settings > Integrations view. Open it and navigate to the worksheet called 'Plot Import Template'. Copy and paste the ChatGPT data into the EverArk template, adding and correcting any other fields you also want imported. We kept the 'Row' and 'Plot' labels from the ChatGPT file and populated the remaining required fields, such as 'Cemetery Name', 'Garden Name', and 'Lot'. We also set all the plots to 'Available' to indicate they're ready for sale. Once we were done and we saved the file, it looked as follows: Step 5. Import your plot data into EverArk
Lastly, you can navigate to Settings > Import and follow the workflow and instructions to import your plot data. It will take a few minutes to import and you will be notified by email when it is complete. After we completed our import, we navigated to Cemetery > Inventory to view the cemetery map. We converted it to Satellite view for a better perspective. The results were very accurate and all plots appeared on the map. As they were all set to 'Available', each plot was represented by a green dot that you could click on to get more detals. |
